Coinsilium, a London-based blockchain tech investment firm, is holding its first Blockchain Tech Lab from 11 to 17 April 2016. The lab is a week-long comprehensive, intensive blockchain tech course and hackathon for developers.
We had the opportunity to ask Coinsilium CEO Eddy Travia questions about the event.
What is the goal of the Lab?
We wanted to bring the leading minds in blockchain technology to London for a unique week-long program of theory and hands-on sessions. The objective is to bridge the blockchain skills gap and trigger the development of real-world applications of blockchain technologies.
What technical level of attendees are you targeting?
Participants should have basic coding skills (PHP, Java, Ruby, Python or equivalent), Linux and Web API.
Will teams from Coinsilium’s portfolio of startups be contributing?
The founders of several of Coinsilium’s investees are contributing to the Blockchain Tech Lab. Sergio Demian Lerner, Chief Scientist of Rootstock; Peter Kirby, CEO of Factom and Steven Sprague, CEO of Rivetz will be speaking about specific aspects of blockchain tech and presenting their solutions to the Lab participants.
Are you planning to roll this out as an annual event or more frequently?
We believe the demand for quality blockchain education will increase in the future. As an investor in and supporter of several pioneers in this space Coinsilium is ideally positioned to respond to this growing demand and provide developers with an access to the best minds in the blockchain space.
What are developers likely to get out of the event?
A developer will get a 360-degree vision and comprehension of a selection of the main blockchain platforms and applications. The program is designed so that each day is an independent module on its own. The schedule includes interactive sessions covering public and private blockchains, sidechains, smart contracts, asset digitisation, data storage and security. At the end of the week, developers will be invited to take part in a Hackathon weekend (Apr 16th -17th).
