SingularDTV, the company decentralizing the entertainment industry, has announced the formation of CODEX, an enterprise research and design lab dedicated to the development and distribution of ‘Tokenized Ecosystems’, with specific focus on the continued addition of complexity and functionality to SingularDTV’s SNGLS token.
Zach LeBeau, CEO of SingularDTV commented: “The first great wave of blockchain adoption is going to be because of Ethereum’s ERC20 tokenized ecosystems. Tokenized ecosystems are a new type of blockchain business entity that allows one to take their ideas, place them on Ethereum’s blockchain and benefit from the power of decentralization. The tokenized ecosystem is everything.”
While SingularDTV’s primary economic model is designed around retail applications for artists and creators, CODEX embodies a B2B enterprise model that will spread Ethereum’s ERC20 token functionality and tokenized ecosystems to legacy entertainment companies worldwide. CODEX will also add an additional revenue stream to the SingularDTV ecosystem.
LeBeau added: “From time to time we are approached by various entities asking us to advise them on building their tokenized ecosystems. It’s been policy to turn these offers down so they don’t interfere with SingularDTV’s focus of building a decentralized entertainment industry. But on very rare occasions, an entity will come along with such a great idea and whose development ladder fits in perfectly with ours, while at the same time adding substantial value to SingularDTV. In these rare cases of synchronicity we feel obligated to form partnerships. CODEX is the place where these partnerships take place.”
Select developers have been invited to participate in CODEX in an advisory role. A team of developers is also being hired to work full-time on CODEX. Through CODEX, SingularDTV is adding greater development power to SingularDTV’s ecosystem of modules, particularly its rights management gateway. The first version of SingularDTV’s rights management gateway is due to launch at the end of Q2, 2017.
CODEX will service SingularDTV and a select group of enterprise clients and strategic partners. It will not be a public facing entity with a website - it is part of the SingularDTV group of international companies and is organized in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico to benefit from an array of tech, tax and business incentives. Puerto Rico is an important location for SingularDTV, and is where the bulk of Singular the sci-fi series will be shot and produced.
