How can Blockchain Technology improve Credit Markets?

Rainmaking Loft London, London, United Kingdom

Event Description

In this CHAIN-FINANCE event, we will look at how blockchain technology can be used in finance to improve Credit Markets.

If you are working in financial services this is an event for you. Whether you are a manager or working on bankingn innovation, this event explores one segment of the financial services industry the fixed income market and explores in detail the potential utility of blockchain technology.

In January alone over USD100m was raised to finance blockchain companies.

See quotes from financial experts about the relevance of blockchain technology:

“You have front-end systems trading at warp speed, and nanoseconds of competitive advantage are being extracted, and yet the back end of Wall Street hasn’t been fundamentally overhauled in decades [...] Firms are dealing with greater requirements for reporting, transparency, and dissemination of data. Costs have gone up and revenues have gone down. This technology really gets to the core of all those issues.”

-- Blythe Masters, CEO of Digital Asset Holdings

"The ability to have a technological solution that enables multiple counterparts to see and enact upon the same understanding of truth on an asset transfer in a way that’s immutable, that’s protected, that uses cryptology to make sure that you can’t go back and change something inappropriately creates a new way to envision the way that we do many parts of the financial industry."

-- Don Duet, Co-head of technology at Goldman Sachs

"blockchain and similar distributed ledger technologies might soon play a role in the entire lifecycle of a trade, including clearing and settlement, collateral management, payments and reconciliation."

-- Accenture FinTech Innovation Lab
